A minor was found dead along the seashore at Purok 1 in Barangay Tiling, Cauayan on Feb. 9 while the skeletal remains of another minor was discovered on Feb. 10 inside a sugarcane field in Isabela, all in Negros Occidental.
Police investigation showed the body of an 11-year-old boy was discovered to have been buried in the sand near the area he was last seen playing.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Cauayan Municipal Hospital.
Meanwhile, the skeletal remains of a minor, who was reported missing after Typhoon Tino in November last year, was discovered inside a sugarcane plantation in Hacienda Alicia, Barangay 5 in Isabela.
The 8-year-old girl was positively identified by her grandmother through the clothes and a bracelet she was wearing.
The victim was a resident of Hacienda Cristina in Barangay Bulad.
In another development, the search and rescue operation is underway to locate a 30-year-old man carried away by strong current at Binalbagan River in Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla.
The victim went home to Barangay Macagahay by crossing a river since the hanging bridge was destroyed by a typhoon three months ago. | GB
