The family of the three minors, who were victims of a stone attack on Feb. 6 in Silay City, Negros Occidental, is getting help from the provincial government of Negros Occidental and Third District Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez, who earlier announced a cash reward of P50,000 for the arrest of the suspect.
Stressing that the reward for the arrest of the suspect may have been enough, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government is now focusing on how to help the mother of the three victims, who is working abroad.
In his Facebook account, Benitez said he will also extend help to defray expenses of the family.
The stone attack killed a nine-year-old girl as well as injured her 14-year-old sister and four-year-old brother.
Both are being treated of head injuries at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
Lacson said that the police has already a suspect although he did not elaborate.
Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego also offered a P25,000 reward for the apprehension of the suspect. | GB
