Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said on Wednesday, Nov. 12, that regular and casual employees will receive their performance-based bonus (PBB), year-end bonus, and P5,000 cash gift after Nov. 15.

“This will help Capitol employees affected by the recent typhoon. They can use it in their usual needs such as health and education,” he added.

The PBB is equivalent to 50 percent of the monthly basic salary while the year-end bonus is equivalent to one month basic salary.

PBB is a merit-based incentive program for government employees designed to reward exemplary performance and improve public service delivery.

It is granted to government personnel based on their contribution to the agency’s targets and requires meeting specific performance and good governance conditions, according to the Department of Budget and Management.

Diaz said “it’s too early to tell” if there will be extra bonus for the Capitol employees, adding that it will be Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson who will make the announcement.

The giving of extra bonus to Capitol employees is usually being announced during the governor’s birthday on Dec. 13.

Last year, provincial government employees received an extra bonus of P55,000.

Meanwhile, Diaz said provincial government health workers, who rendered services during the COVID-19 pandemic period, also received their Health Emergency Allowance from the national government on Nov. 12. | GB
