An estimated 30,000 employees from different private sectors in Western Visayas are expected to benefit in the second implementation of COVID Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) under the Department of Labor and Employment .
DOLE Region 6 focal person Niezel Sabrido said on Sunday (Nov. 15) that they have started the release of cash assistance to new applicants who applied earlier for the program.
Under the Bayanihan 2 Act, DOLE has allotted a budget to continue giving financial assistance of P5,000 to all employees from private sector that were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the first implementation of CAMP in Western Visayas, Sabrido said DOLE has released P127 million to around 25, 400 workers for the months of April and May.
However, she said about 13,000applicants were not able to receive the cash assistance due to lack of funds. DOLE advised those who have not availed of the program to re-apply online and follow the new procedure for the application .
Sabrido stressed that the applicants should comply with all the requirements and wait for the notice from DOLE for the payout schedule. – ML
