Bacolod and Negros motorists can avail of the services of the Land Transportation Office, including onsite vehicle registration, driver’s license applications and renewals, free theoretical driving course lectures, and other road safety initiatives, at the Capitol grounds in Bacolod City until today, Aug. 1.

The agency launched its “LTO on Wheels”, in collaboration with the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Department of Transportation July 30.

LTO Region 6 director, Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, emphasized the “LTO on Wheels” role in decentralizing services across Western Visayas.

“The LTO E‑Patrol brings crucial services closer to our communities, reducing travel time for motorists, and improving compliance with road safety regulations,” Geduspan said in a statement, adding this is in line with the directive of LTO chief, Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, to improve grassroots access to transportation services and bolster collaboration with local government units.

“By making license and registration renewals more convenient, we encourage more of our citizens to follow traffic rules, undergo proper inspections, and maintain roadworthy vehicles to ensure the safety of everyone,” Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said in a statement as he joined the rollout and expressed support for this initiative.

The e-Patrol van aims to bring essential LTO services directly to motorists, particularly in remote and underserved areas. Lacson said this initiative is not just for road safety but also for the ease of doing business.

The activity at the Capitol grounds included live demonstrations and a rollout of the LTO R6/NIR E-Patrol Mobile Office, including vehicle inspection, smoke emission testing, vehicle registration, and licensing services using its modernized bus.

The E-Patrol bus will be at the Capitol grounds until today, and around Bacolod and neighboring towns and cities through mid-August, the LTO said. | CGC
