NegOcc Capitol accepting scholarships to Australia

The provincial government, through the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) Division, is now accepting applicants interested in a Study Now, Pay Later scheme at the International College of Advanced Education (ICAE) and Alana Kaye College (AKC), both located in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.

The courses offered include commercial cookery at ICAE, and ageing and individual support at AKC.

The provincial government will cover the grantees’ full tuition, visa, materials, and medical fees plus overseas student heath cover, the Capitol said in a press release.

Grantees will later be required to repay the provincial government through an installment scheme, based on a payment schedule provided by the NOSP Division.

This program is conducted in coordination with the Office of the Philippine Honorary Consul to the Northern Territory, Australia, Januario Rivas, who is also a Negrense.

An applicant must be a bona fide resident of Negros Occidental, excluding Bacolod City, 22-30 years old and single, physically and mentally fit with medical clearance required, with no pending administrative or criminal case (PNP and NBI clearances required), currently employed in a related field, with excellent communication skills, of good moral character with a certificate from school/university required, and must pass the IELTS with band score of at least 6.0 once shortlisted.

For commercial cookery, the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or Hospitality Management, a diploma in Culinary, Hospitality Management, or Hotel and Restaurant Management, and at least two years of relevant work experience in cookery or culinary arts.

For the ageing and individual support course, the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Physical Therapy, and at least two years of relevant work experience.

Interested applicants may submit their curriculum vitae plus the required documents at the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division, 2nd Floor, Multi-Purpose Building, beside NBI, along Aguinaldo Street in Bacolod City.
