Primelectric Holdings Inc. (PHI), through its distribution subsidiaries Negros Power, MORE Power, and Bohol Light, has announced substantial electricity rate reductions for June 2025.

These private utilities continue to deliver on their promise of providing affordable, reliable, and efficient power, bringing meaningful relief to families at a time when school-related expenses are top of mind.

In a statement, PHI said More Power residential rate in Iloilo dropped by P0.61 per kilowatt hour (kWh), with a household consuming 200 kWh per month saving about P122.

Negros Power in central Negros rates also reduced by P0.55 per kWh, with P110 monthly savings for an average household.

There is P150 savings for Bohol Light in Tagbilaran City, with a drop of P0.75 per kWh.

PHI primarily attributed the rate drops to the strategic energy trading at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market and lower transmission charges.

As a result, MORE Power, Negros Power, and Bohol Light now maintain the lowest residential power rates in their respective regions, it added.

“These rate reductions reflect our commitment to manage power supply strategically, optimize market opportunities, and pass the savings directly to our consumers,” PHI president and chief executive officer Roel Castro said.

He added: “We understand the economic pressures faced by households, especially during times like school enrollment season. Every peso saved on electricity is a peso that can go toward food, education, or essentials, and we are proud to help make that possible”.

Castro said that the utilities will continue investing in upgrading of infrastructures, system loss reduction programs, and smart market participation, with a goal to keep power rates low and service quality high.

PHI is a leading private utility group focused on modernizing electric distribution systems and delivering affordable, reliable, and sustainable power to Filipino communities. ||
