Cops seize P.7M shabu, explosive

Some 11 suspects were arrested while P729,480 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate police operations in Negros Occidental on June 11 and 12.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Richard Legada conducted a buy- bust on June 11 at Purok Cadena de Amor in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Conrado Enojo, 47, and Ronilo Figueroa, 37, both residents of the barangay, who were found possessing about 90 grams of suspected shabu valued at P612,000.

On June 11, policemen raided a residence in Sitio Guinam-an, Barangay Buenavista, Murcia by virtue of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Bacolod City, resulting in the arrest of alias “Berting”, a 67-year-old farmer.

The raid yielded a fragmentation grenade, a Taurus caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing seven ammunition, and two fired cartridges.

Eight other drug suspects were separately arrested by the police in a series of buy-busts in the cities of Escalante, Sagay, La Carlota, Talisay, Cadiz, and Himamaylan, leading to the recovery of an estimated 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at P117,800 and a motorcycle. | GB
