Micro, small, and medium enterprises from Kabankalan City were standouts in creativity and craftsmanship, and won major awards at the recently-concluded 32nd Bulawan Awards, 3rd Pilak Awards, and 2nd ANP-PGNO Balik Salig Awards held at SM City Bacolod.
Organized by the Association of Negros Producers (ANP) and the provincial government of Negros Occidental, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry Negros Occidental, led by provincial director Engr. Lynna Joy Cardinal, the prestigious event recognizes the best in product innovation, design, and community enterprise across the province.
Kabankalan’s locally-handcrafted entries, produced by dedicated artisans and community-based groups, captivated judges and audiences alike, and earned accolades in various categories, the city said in a press release.


In the Bulawan Awards, the Kamurang Bag with Agnaya Accent was named Best in Bag Category, Kamurang Miniature Duyan – Best in Home Furnishing Category, Miniature Duyan from Kamurang Driftwood – Best in Craftsmanship and Most Unique, Cadiwa Nito Hamper – Best in Hamper Category, Small Nito Basket – Best in Basket Category, and Camingawan Diversified Workers Association – Best in Novelty Category.
In the Pilak Awards Flour-Based Product Category, Socorro Abanto won as first runner-up, while Emelia Nombreda was second runner-up, the city added.
Bulawan Awards is the annual product design competition of the ANP, which recognizes outstanding products by ANP members from vulnerable communities and organizations…designed to encourage creativity and the development of new market-driven products.
