The skeletal remains of a missing person were discovered in Barangay Camansi, Kabankalan City while a fisherman was found dead along the shoreline of Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental on May 31.

Initial police investigation showed that alias “Joey”, 19, a resident of Sitio Bayog, was reported missing by his father Joey since May 5.

Alias “Gino” found the skeletal remains while he was gathering firewood at Purok 1 in Barangay Camansi.

Before the victim had gone missing, his father told the police that his son was suffering from depression.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old fisherman identified only by the police as alias “Ruben” was found dead along the shoreline of Purok II in Barangay Saraet.

The victim was reported to have been in a drinking session with his neighbor on Friday night.

He may have fallen from the seaport and succumbed to bruises in the head, the police said.

The Himamaylan City police has requested a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death of the victim. | GB
