An alumna of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) in Talisay, and two graduates of Philippine Normal University Visayas, based in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, ranked fourth and seventh in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) secondary level, as per results released by the Professional Regulation Commission May 23.
Ma. Carmel Belardo Delada, a cum laude graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Science program, at CHMSU Talisay Campus, and Jacob Duran Facultad of PNU Visayas, both ranked fourth, with a rating of 93.20 percent.
Roxanne Carano-o Ricaplaza, of PNU Visayas, secured the seventh spot, with a 92.60 percent rating, also in the LEPT secondary level, the PRC said.

“My success is 50 percent effort and 50 percent faith in God,” Delada, who graduated in 2024, said in a press release from CHMSU as she thanked her family, friends, and mentors for their unwavering support.
She said that while staying focused on her review, she also made it a point to spend quality time with her family during special occasions, as she believes in the importance of balance and emotional wellbeing.
PNU Visayas, meanwhile, lauded its two topnotchers, saying their feats “underscore the university’s consistent performance and dedication to shaping future-ready educators.”
“As the designated National Center for Teacher Education and the Environment and Green Technology Education Hub, PNU Visayas continues to push the boundaries of innovative and sustainable education,” it stressed, adding that all its 133 secondary teachers and 28 elementary teachers passed the LEPT as first-time takers.


This led the PNU Visayas to claim the first place nationwide among top performing schools in the LEPT secondary with 100-299 examinees.
Bacolod City College ranked fifth, with 95 passers out of 102 examinees, for a 93.14 passing percentage.
The CHMSU Talisay, meanwhile, ranked seventh, with 200 passers out of 218 takers, or 91.74 passing rate.
Meanwhile, the PRC said 38,747 secondary teachers out of 62,225 examinees successfully passed the exam, or 62.27 percent, given last March 23 in 38 testing centers all over the Philippines.
Jeanlyn Guinita Colipano of Cebu Technological University-Danao, topped the secondary level LEPT with a rating of 93.80 percent.
In the elementary level, 16,282 teachers passed, out of 34,810 examinees, or 46.77 percent. Tied in Top 1 are Jamaema Hiluano Mustapha from Mindanao State University (Maigo Sat) and Raeiden Mohammad Pango from Mindanao State University-Iligan, both with a 94.60 percent rating, the PRC said.
It added that, of the 16,282 elementary teacher passers, 13,819 are first timers and 2,463 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 32,624 passers are first timers and 6,123 are repeaters. | CGC, PNU VISAYAS and CHMSU photos
