President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has promoted Brig. Gen. Michael Samson, a Bacolodnon, to the rank of major general.

His promotion to the next higher rank came after Samson was designated last month as commander of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, which supervises the units stationed in Western Visayas, Negros Island Region and Central Visayas.

Samson said on Wednesday (March 19) that his promotion to the rank of major general took effect March 6.
