The City of Victorias received awards and recognitions from the Commission on Population and Development Region VI during the 2024 POPDEV Awards, held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City March 11.
The event was attended by Joy Reunir, head of the CSWD Office and City Population officer-designate, along with Ricky Lapidante, Local Youth Development officer.
Victorias was recognized for its outstanding contributions to Adolescent Health and Development, Responsible Parenthood, and Family Planning, the city in a press release March 13.
The city’s achievements include Top 3, 885 percent Adolescents Reached (Component Cities Category): Advancement of Adolescent Health & Development 2024; Frontrunner in the Implementation of Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling: Promotion of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning 2024; 389 percent Couples/Individuals Reached: Promotion of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning Program 2024; and 306 percent New Family Planning Acceptors: Promotion of Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning Program 2024.
“This exceptional performance is a testament to the collaborative effort of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, the City Health Office, DepEd, the Pre-Marriage Counseling Team of the LGU, and the SK Federation, headed by Trisha Claro Majan,” the city said.
Their dedication significantly contributes to achieving the goals and objectives of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action 2023-2028 in Western Visayas, the city said, adding the latest feat also reflects the commitment and teamwork of the entire LGU of Victorias. ||
