Member-consumers of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative will be paying this billing month P13.7988 each kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed, from the P15.7927/kWh residential rate in July.
Noneco said in an advisory Aug. 21 that its average residential rate decreased by P1.9939/kWh, due to the P1.66/kWh downward adjustment in total generation charges, or P8.38 in August from P10.05/kWh last month, because of lower electricity prices in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
The reduction in the system loss charge of P0.1981/kWh and in the Universal Charges-Missionary Charge of P0.0433/kWh also contributed to the overall power rate decrease, the Noneco management said.
Last week, the Central Negros Electric Cooperative said its average residential rate this billing month also decreased by P2.5077/kWh, or at P10.8380/kWh from last month’s rate of P13.3457/kWh.
Residential consumers of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative, meanwhile, will pay P13.0620 each kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed, from the P16.1134/kWh rate in July, or a decrease of P3.0514/kWh, also due to lower generation charge.
Despite the rate decrease, consumers are urged to conserve energy to avoid paying high electricity bills. | CGC
