The pump prices of petroleum products will decrease this week, after a month of upward movement.

Oil companies announced over the weekend that diesel should go down by P0.80 to P1.00 per liter, gasoline by P0.50 to P0.70/L, and kerosene by P0.60 to P1.10/L.

The exact adjustments will be known today, July 15, with price movements taking effect the following day.

The Department of Energy said that, since the start of this year, it logged a net increase of P10.85/liter for gasoline, P9.05/liter for diesel, and P2.35/liter for kerosene.

Meanwhile, the DOE is urging the public to report to authorities or the agency any individual or entity who misrepresents themselves to be authorized by, or associated with the DOE or any of its officials for appropriate legal action.

It added that as per Republic Act 11592, or the LPG Industry Regulation Act, it is the lone agency responsible for the enforcement of compliance to the requirements of a License to Operate (LTO) to qualified industry participants, as well as issue suspension and revocation of the LTO and closure order to industry participants, who have committed violations.

Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) and Energy Industry Management Division (EIMD) inspectors, authorized to conduct compliance monitoring, always carry a special assignment, specifying their names, purpose of assignment, duration and places of assignment, for reference. They are also required to wear the DOE official identification card while performing their functions, the DOE said in an advisory. | CGC
