Election Registration Board (ERB) members, who have family members and relatives running for positions in the Oct. 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections, are also up for reassignment, Provincial Comelec supervisor, Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, said Thursday, Sept. 14.
Ananoria said the move aims to prevent them from influencing the results of the elections.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office has already reassigned 269 of its police personnel, who have relatives and family members joining the elections.
Ananoria said the selection and training of ERBs and canvassing board members are ongoing, with seminars and training sessions to be conducted in the next few weeks.
He also assured teachers and other government personnel serving during the election that the honorarium will be released on time.
Ananoria added that some of the election paraphernalia, such as non-accountable forms, have already arrived, while others have been directly sent to the cities./GB
