Seventy-eight jobseekers were hired on the spot during the 2023 Kalayaan Job Fair initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment Region VI, and hosted by SM City Bacolod June 12.
Participated in by 54 local companies and four overseas employment agencies with a listing of over 8,000 jobs, the job fair drew a total of 1,414 eager jobseekers, who registered for available positions offered by companies from various industries.
Aside from hosting the job fair, SM City Bacolod also actively joined the activities in celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day in the city.
The parade, which kicked off from selected points in Bacolod, and led by Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya and Mayor Alfredo Benitez, ended at the mall in the reclamation area.
Among those who joined the parade are personnel of the Philippine Army, Navy and Air Force, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, ROTC units of colleges and universities, the band and bugle corps of public schools, Department of Education, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, and Girl Scouts of the Philippines./PR
