Two policemen sustained minor injuries after they figured in a vehicular accident April 20 in Sitio Dao, Brgy. Lemery in Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The victims were identified as P/SSgt. Rex Bacan and Patrolman Rofer Villanueva, both members of the Calatrava Police Station in Negros Occidental.
The two, with other members of the town police, were conducting a checkpoint, when two motorcycle-riding persons ignored law enforcers who were trying to flag them down.
They were immediately chased by Bacan and Villanueva, who, unfortunately, figured in an accident, the Calatrava police said.
The two suspects later abandoned the black Honda TMX 155 motorcycle, which was recovered by the Calatrava police.
The two injured police officers were immediately brought to the Calatrava Municipal Hospital for treatment of their injuries./GB
