P1.3M worth of shabu seized

A barangay kagawad and another drug suspect were arrested Tuesday, Nov. 8, by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.

Nabbed were Alijis kagawad Abby Araneta, 28, and Freely Boy Aldas,39, of Purok Cabugwason, Brgy. Mansilingan, also in Bacolod, P/Lt. Liberty Indiape, deputy spokesperson of the Bacolod City Police Office, said.

Both were categorized by the police as High Value Individuals in the illegal drug operations.

The apprehension of the two drug suspects yielded an estimated 201 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P1,366,800, P700 in cash, marked money of P5,000, and a Toyota Vios sedan vehicle.

Initial police investigations show that the illegal drugs being sold by the two drug suspects came from Luzon.

CONSOLIDATE DRUG WATCHLIST

The Bacolod City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, meanwhile, held a drug watchlist validation activity along with the BCPO and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 at Balay Silangan in Barangay Singcang-Airport Nov. 8, a city press release said.

PDEA provincial officers, chief intel police non-commissioned officers, and Police Community Relations personnel from the 10 police stations of Bacolod counterchecked and consolidated local, regional, and national watch-lists, for coordinated and efficient drug-clearing operations, especially in the barangays.

Those in attendance also identified and updated the status of drug personalities, especially those “subject to negation, rehabilitation, and formation program”, the press release said.
