Lacson leads Neg. Occ. delegation in visit to Australia

Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko will serve in acting capacity as governor and vice governor of Negros Occidental, respectively, for a week, as per a designation order from Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said.

Diaz said that Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson will be on official business trip to Australia from Nov. 5 to 11.

Lacson will lead a 7-man delegation for an official business and meeting with Darwin officials in Australia, in connection with the job placement and training programs of the provincial government, he added.

Joining Lacson are Diaz, Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, Tina Orbecido – head of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology, Karen Dinsay of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program, Provincial Information Officer Cha Cha Magallanes, and Irene Bel Ploteña of the Provincial Administrator’s Office.

Diaz said they will make courtesy calls on officials of the departments of Tourism, Education, and Disaster Preparedness, as agreed during the visit to Negros Occidental of Januario John Rivas, Philippine consul general in Darwin.

The Capitol delegation will also look into the condition of the province’s working students, as well as those who have completed their studies, in the Australian city./GB
