A total of 566 neophyte police officers, who will be assigned at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and police provincial mobile force companies in Western Visayas, are expected to be fielded in the continuing fight against the New People’s Army rebels and other threat groups.
This was after they completed the mandatory three months of Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) at Camp Jalandoni in Sara, Iloilo, Feb. 8.
BISOC, which is a mandatory training for police officers, equips rookies with the necessary knowledge and skills on counter-insurgency operations, both in rural or urban terrain, P/Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, regional police spokesman, said.
Solis added that the training also developed and honed their values and attitude to enable them to be adaptable to any environment, making them capable and responsible to handle any assigned task.
Of the 566 BISOC graduates, 518 are males and 48 females.
P/Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, in his speech during the graduation rites held at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo Tuesday, reminded the neophyte police officers to perform professionally, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the organization, once they are deployed to actual duties in the field.
Dongbo said the neophyte police officers will be deployed anywhere in the region, adding that they will be performing different tasks, such as anti-insurgency, public safety, and special law enforcement operations./GB
