Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said Dec. 30 that job order (JO) and contract of service (COS) personnel of the city government will receive gratuity pay, ranging from P2,000 to P5,000.
Leonardia said this after President Rodrigo Duterte signed Administrative Order No. 46 Dec. 29, urging local government units to extend gratuity pay to COS and JOs if they have the financial capability to do so.
Personnel qualified to receive the additional incentive will get a high of P5,000 to a low of P2,000 each, depending on their length of service with the LGU, the mayor said in a press release from the city.
COS and JOs are entitled to a one-time P5,000 additional incentive if they have rendered a total, or an aggregate, of at least four months of actual satisfactory performance of service.
Those who have rendered three months or more but less than four months of service will receive P4,000 each, while personnel who have worked for two months or more but less than three months, will be given P3,000.
COS and JOs with less than two months of service are entitled to P2,000.
The gratuity pay is a “well-deserved recognition of their hard work in implementing programs, projects and activities, including those which are part of the emergency COVID-19 response efforts of the government”, the AO said.
“Relative to this, I am directing the appropriate offices under our LGU to make necessary preparations for the release of the incentive as the city still has sufficient funds amid the COVID-19 pandemic and despite the Typhoon Odette that recently hit Bacolod,” Leonardia said.
He thanked Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and the Sangguniang Panlungsod for ratifying the grant of the one-time incentive. | NND
