The Bacolod City Police Office reported that 1,078 out of its 1,169 personnel, or 92 percent, have received the Covid-19 vaccines, as of yesterday.
The BCPO vaccination records show that 34 Police Commissioned Officers, 998 Police Non-Commissioned Officers, and 46 Non-Uniformed Personnel were inoculated with different brands of anti-Covid19 vaccines during the vaccine roll out at the BCPO headquarters and in other vaccination centers in Bacolod City.
A team of police nurses, under the supervision of the Bacolod Emergency Operations Center, administered the vaccine, the report said.
With most of the BCPO personnel already vaccinated, Police Col. Manuel Placido said chances of COVID-19 infection among its members will be minimal.
“To help prevent the spread of the virus in the community is our ultimate objective,” Placido said.
He added that the vaccination of the police personnel was done in coordination with the EOC.
Placido said he is grateful to the Bacolod LGU for allotting vaccines for the BCPO personnel. – MML
