A nine-hour outage, starting at 8 a.m. Nov. 26, will affect residents serviced by the Sum-ag and Hilangban substations of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc., following the shutdown of the Bacolod-San Enrique 69kV transmission line by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.

NGCP will repair melted conductors at gantry, and conduct preventive maintenance and correction of other defects along the transmission line. It will also affect the Valladolid, La Carlota, and San Enrique substations of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative.

Ceneco acting general manager Ervin Stan Leo Ticar said that during the downtime, the coop will hold ride-on preventive maintenance of its 10MVA Sum-ag substation and 10MVA Hilangban substation, as well as related accessories for safety and reliability; replace three-phase primary rotten poles; and do tree clearing activities.

He added that an 8 a.m. to 12nn power interruption, also on Saturday, will affect the Asdes-Gonzaga Feeder 4, particularly from corner Lopez-Jaena-6th Street to Lacson Street, Bacolod, to give way to the erection of a 40-foot concrete pole, extension of one span three-phase primary line, and installation of private distribution transformers, with their accessories and service wires.

Consumers are advised that electrical switch/es should be turned off during an outage for safety reasons. “When electricity supply resumes, please provide allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge,” Ticar added. ||
