The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in Negros Occidental is set to distribute financial assistance of P2,000 each to 800 more hog raisers affected by the African swine fever (ASF) and other hog diseases this month.
These are hog raisers who suffered losses due to swine deaths.
Provincial social welfare and development officer-in-charge Chiqui Gonzales yesterday said the latest batch of 800 beneficiaries, who will receive financial aid on Feb. 13, are those in Valladolid, Hinigaran and San Enrique towns.
The provincial government has allocated P10 million in financial assistance to 5,000 hog raisers in the province.
Gonzales said the release of financial assistance to 196 beneficiaries in Victorias City and 200 more in Ilog town have already been approved.
In December last year, the PSDWO also distributed similar financial aid to 800 hog raisers in six barangays of Ilog town. | GB
