An eight-year-old boy drowned at the irrigation canal in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Aug. 26.
The victim, a Grade 2 pupil, was declared dead on arrival at Bago City Hospital, where he was brought by the Ma-ao Volunteer Rescue Unit for medical attention.
Initial police investigation showed the victim took a bath at the irrigation canal despite being told by his older brother not to do so.
The minor, who jumped into the irrigation canal, was then carried by a strong current. | GB
