8 suspects nabbed in anti-drug operations

Drug enforcement teams of Bacolod City Police Office arrested eight drug personalities and seized P202,400 worth of suspected shabu in a series of buy-busts from Jan. 4 to 6.

Col. Manuel Placido, city police director, commended his men for the successful drug operations despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Suspect Kirby Andrada was apprehended Wednesday by operatives of Police Station 5 along the Mansilingan-Murcia Road in Barangay Mansilingan at around 3:30 a.m.

Andrada, 32, a high-value target, sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer for P500, and yielded two more sachets, all containing seven grams of the prohibited substance valued at P47,600.

On Tuesday, operatives of Police Station 4 arrested four suspects at around 9:30 p.m.in Purok Mabinuligon, Barangay 19.

They were identified as Junerey Divinagracia, 34; Baby Girl Segovia, Benmer Menes and Michael Arellano, also all of legal age.

Police report said the suspects yielded seven sachets of shabu, weighing 6.12 grams, with an estimated value of P42,000, along with P400 in cash, an improvised pin gun and drug paraphernalia.

At around 1 p.m., Dennis Britania Hojilla, 40, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 2 in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.

A street level individual, the suspect sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 to an undercover policeman.

Also found in Hojilla’s possession were four sachets of the prohibited substance, weighing 11 grams, valued at P74,800 as well as P320 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Earlier around 1 a.m., Richard Dequiña, 46, was arrested in Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre by the operating team of Police Station 5.

After selling P500 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer, the suspect yielded five sachets of the same substance valued at P25,000.

Operatives of Police Station 8 also caught on Monday Darlyn Silva, who was selling shabu at around 8 p.m. in Purok Riverside, Barangay Banago.

They recovered from the 26-year-old suspect four sachets of shabu, weighing 1.7 grams, valued at P13,000.

All suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. – NLG
