8 police officers in NIR get medals

Eight police officers under the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) were conferred medals for their exceptional contributions to the peace and order campaign in a ceremony held at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City on Dec. 9.

The awardees were cited for their unwavering dedication, professionalism, and integrity demonstrated beyond the performance of their duties.

PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR regional director, conferred the awards.

The Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded to PCapt. Angelo Pancratius Cabrera, chief of Larena Municipal Police Station in Siquijor; and PCapt. Honey Labaro, chief of Murcia Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental, as well as to PSSg Dawn Rey Tingcang and PCMS Jorge Napilan for the arrest two most wanted persons in the region, on Sept. 23 and Oct. 28, respectively.

PCapt. John Paul Francisco, head of the 3rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, and Pat. Clemente D Cabilen Jr. received the same medal for the successful implementation of search warrant in Barangay Caningay, Candoni, Negros Occidental on Nov. 1.

The Medalya na Kasanayan and Papuri were conferred to PMSg Glenphil Bohol and PCpl. Mark Anthony Saratobias.

Despite being off duty, Saratobias displayed remarkable commitment to public safety by providing crucial support to those in need while putting his own life at risk by responding to a vehicular accident. | GB
