The Department of Health has sent 7,340 vials, equivalent to 73,400 doses, of Moderna vaccines to Negros Occidental and Bacolod City Oct. 22.

A vial of Moderna vaccine is good for 10 doses.

The vaccines were delivered by a Philippine Airlines cargo flight.

The 6,600 vials were earmarked for Negros Occidental, while Bacolod City got 740 vials.

Juanito Tanchico, newly-installed Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) manager of the Bacolod-Silay Airport, supervised the unloading of the vaccines from the plane for transport to the cold storage facilities of the Bacolod city and provincial governments.

The Provincial Incident Management Team logged 3,948 COVID-19 active cases, with 15 deaths, on Oct. 22.

The DOH in Western Visayas also reported that Negros Occidental recorded 122 new COVID cases, while Bacolod has 46 fresh infections. — GB
