Teachers, cops, and fire personnel in Bacolod City, numbering to 5,007, are set to start receiving their allowances from the city government today, July 25.
These include 3,860 public school teachers, who will each receive P2,200 in monthly Emergency Cost of Living Allowance (ECOLA) for the second quarter, or for April to June, the city said.
Each of the 1,023 policemen and women, and 124 Bureau of Fire Protection personnel will also receive P1,500 allowance for June.
The total disbursement allowance amounts to P27,196,500, the city added.
Mayor Greg Gasataya signed the disbursement voucher July 24, and the allowance is scheduled for release starting today.
“These everyday heroes risk their lives, care for our safety, and shape young minds often with limited resources,” Gasataya said in a statement, adding that “recognizing their vital roles is a simple but meaningful way to show respect for their hard work and sacrifices.”
He thanked the teachers, police and BFP personnel for their dedication and service to Bacolodnons. “Salamat guid sa inyo dedikasyon kag pagserbisyo sa aton pumuluyo!”
The local government’s support aims to ease the financial burden on these essential workers and uniformed personnel, while reinforcing their morale and capacity to serve, the city stressed. ||
