5 year-old boy drowns in Bacolod

The body of the five-year-old boy, who was reported missing at the height of the heavy downpour at around 1:30 p.m. today, was recovered more than two hours later in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

The police said that the boy, a resident of Dahlia Street in Purok Mabinuligon, Brgy. Mansilingan, reportedly slid down a manhole and was taken by strong water current at Ilang-ilang Street, Hillside Subdivision in the barangay.

Search and rescue personnel from the city Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and other responders immediately responded to the call for assistance, and eventually recovered the body at around 3:48 p.m., also in the area. | CGC
