Five drug personalities were arrested while about P47,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized by the police in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental on April 28.
The arrest of a junkshop worker in Barangay 2, Himamaylan City yielded about two grams of suspected shabu valued at P13,600 and drug paraphernalia, as well as a caliber .22 revolver with five ammunition.
Two other suspects, a laborer and a tricycle driver, were both arrested in Purok So-ol, Barangay San Juan, Binalbagan, with P13,400 worth of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money.
Two more grams of similar prohibited drugs, with a market value of P13,400, were confiscated by the police from a 49-year-old widower at Purok Sampaguita in Barangay 14B, Talisay City.
The apprehension of a 40-year-old construction worker at Sitio Tanulo in Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran, also yielded P6,800 in suspected shabu, marked money of P500 and P700 in cash, according to reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office. | GB
