Five graduates of schools in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental landed in top spots in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), elementary and secondary, the Professional Regulation Commission said tonight, Dec. 7.
Hanna Mae Pama Caguete of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos made it to Top 6 in the elementary level, with a rating of 93.40 percent.
Sheila Marie Delgado of West Visayas State University (WVSU)-Himamaylan Campus is in Top 7, after she garnered a 93.20 percent rating.
Jeriel Grace Moyani Mabulay, also a graduate of WVSU-Himamaylan, landed in Top 9, with a 92.80 percent rating.
Dindo Pama Espanola Jr. of the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University-Talisay made it to Top 10, with a 92.60 percent rating.
There are 87 passers in the top 10 of the LEPT elementary level, led by Dulce Angeline Hernandez Arellano and Chelsea Lipana Tiaga, both of the University of Santo Tomas, who logged a 94.40 percent rating.
In the LEPT secondary, Donnabelle Tubal Fernandez of Bago City College made it to Top 10, with a 92.80 percent rating. She is among the 39 topnotchers, led by Trilbe Lizann Espina Vasquez of the University of the Philippines, who garnered a 94.80 percent rating.
The PRC said 23,782 elementary teachers out of 50,593 examinees (47.01 percent) and 53,995 secondary teachers out of 95,969 examinees (56.26 percent) hurdled the LEPT given Sept. 24 in Bangkok, Thailand and in 40 testing centers all over the Philippines.
Of the 23,782 elementary teacher passers, 16,716 are first timers and 7,066 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,979 passers are first timers and 14,016 are repeaters, it added.
The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies will be announced later, the PRC said, adding that the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on Jan. 8. | CGC
