The project was started during the administration of former mayor and now Congressman Alfredo Marañon III in 2018, in partnership with the Department of Education-Sagay City Division.

Mayor Narciso “Narwin” Javelosa Jr. said this is a continuing project of the city government to encourage school children to make good with their studies.

Project Lapis kag Papel, a school supplies distribution program, is part of the initiatives under the education thrust of the Javelosa administration, a press release from the city said.

Vice Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva also said he is happy that this program continues as it helps to strengthen the foundation of schools to provide quality education to Sagaynon learners.

He also thanked the stakeholders for their all-out support to the education programs of the city as he believes that with their commitment, educating the students will continue to improve in Sagay. ||
