An additional 400 job order employees (JOs) of the San Carlos City government each received P3,000 in cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Nov. 7 at the city auditorium.
AICS is a social service program that provides various forms of assistance to individuals and families in need, including medical, burial, transportation, educational, nutritional, and financial support.
DSWD Region 6 representatives led the distribution of P3,000 in cash to each 400 job order employees.
Recipient Nestor Bolonias, 69, a JO employee at the City Environment Management Office, said he is thankful for the cash assistance, adding he plans to use it for home necessities.
City auditorium JO employee Lester Hilay, 30, said he will use his cash assistance to buy materials for home repairs and fencing, and for basic needs.
Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano made the assistance possible, the city said, adding that, according to their political affairs officers Lane Manimtim and Al Uy, the siblings are happy that the program impacted the community, and urged recipients to use the money wisely.
Manimtim reminded the recipients to prioritize their families and essential needs, over unnecessary vices.
San Carlos City Mayor Renato Gustilo, executive assistant Pocholo Yuvienco, and Liga ng mga Barangay president Alfredo Martin Cui were also present during the cash assistance distribution. ||
