A total of 317 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Negros Occidental on Thursday alone, based on the report of the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT).
The data was based on the results released by Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital Molecular Laboratory in Silay City.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said this is so far, the highest one-day record of the province since the pandemic started early last year.
Kabankalan City has the most number of new cases with 55, followed by Cadiz City, 52. Murcia logged 44 more cases after the mass testing conducted on Wednesday.
San Carlos City has additional 24 cases while Bago City has 21. Others with additional cases on Thursday were Cauayan, 20; Himamaylan City, 19; Ilog, 15; Binalbagan, 14; and La Carlota City has 12 new cases.
Also with new cases are San Enrique, 9; Silay City and Pulupandan, 4 each; E.B. Magalona, 3; Talisay City, 2; Victorias City, Hinobaan and Valladolid, one each.
PIMT commander Zeaphard Caelian said they will discuss new strategies in a meeting with Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and all the city and town mayors today. – MML
