The Philippine Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade stationed in Negros Occidental has a new deputy commander in the person of Col. Victor Llapitan.

Llapitan, a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1993, swapped positions with Col. Eufracio Joel Malig, who is now the Philippine Army assistant chief of staff for civil- military operations.

The installation of Malig to his new position was presided over on Jan. 19 by Army chief of staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano Camba at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Andres Bonifacio in Taguig City.

Llapitan was previously commander of the 61st Infantry Brigade, head of the 3rd Army Training Group, Training and Doctrine Command, and assistant chief of staff for plans of TRADOC, among other key positions in the Philippine Army.

Malig, a member of the PMA Class 1994, used to be the assistant chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Systems Engineering Office, assistant chief of staff for G7, and commander of the 47th Infantry Battalion.

In a statement, Camba encouraged Malig to take advantage of his accumulated experiences in the civil-military operations field by sustaining progressive civilian-military and stakeholders projects which all contribute to nation-building. | GB
