The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is deploying 300 policemen to beef up security forces during the highlights of the Dinagyang Festival 2026 in Iloilo City.
PRO-NIR Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay on Tuesday (Jan. 20) led the send-off of the augmentation personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, Bacolod City Police Office, and those undergoing Field Training Program at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City.
In a statement, Ibay said they will be deployed on duty from Jan. 22 to 26 in support of intensified security measures for the Dinagyang Festival.
He reminded the police personnel to prioritize their personal safety while performing their duties and to ensure the safety and security of the celebration.
“While full commitment is expected in maintaining peace and order throughout the festival, every officer must return safe and sound,” he added.
Ibay reminded them to strictly adhere to standard operating procedures, respect human rights, and uphold the principles of people-centered policing. | GB
