Three of the 14 suspects charged for the murder of former Moises Padilla Councilor Jolomar Hilario surrendered to the police on Monday, Aug. 23.

P/Maj. Randy Babor, Moises Padilla police chief, said the three suspects – Jose Morito Flores, Felisa Villaflor and her husband Jonathan Villaflor — surrendered to the police station.

Babor added that Mayor Ella Yulo Garcia had informed him ahead about their surrender.

Flores is an incumbent councilor of the town while Felisa Villaflor is the barangay captain of Quinten Remo.

Babor said all three suspects, who are now detained at the police custodial facility, denied any involvement in the killing of Hilario.

Hilario, 51, who was running for re-election in 2019, was murdered inside his home in Moises Padilla.

The NPA Leonardo Panaligan Command had claimed responsibility for his death, claiming that Hilario was a military asset. — GB
