3 Silliman U graduates in Top 10 of agri exam

Three graduates of the College of Agriculture of Silliman University in Dumaguete City landed in the top 10 of the Agriculturist Licensure Examination as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission.

Silliman alumni Jernet Lago, David Allen De Guzman, and Carl Vincent Ganir ranked 4th, 6th, and 7th, respectively, in the November 2021 agriculturist examination.

Of the 3,927 examinees, 1,172 passed, with Ella Hazel Estrada of the Visayas State University-Baybay as Top 1, with a score of 86 percent.

John Carlos Boyles, also of VSU-Baybay, and Vivian Timple of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños scored 85.83 percent and 85.50 percent, respectively.

Silliman said its three graduates took up Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, major in Agronomy.

Lago received a gold medal as “Most Outstanding Agriculture Student of the Year”, while De Guzman graduated cum laude and was also awarded a gold medal as “Most Outstanding Agriculture Student of the Year”, the SU said in a press statement Nov. 19, adding that it produced 10 licensed agriculturists.

SU garnered a passing rate of 66.67 percent.

The PRC said that from Dec. 23 to 29, the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online. The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will  announced later. | NND
