3 guns recovered, 2 suspects nabbed

The series of raids in Negros Island Region in line with the campaign against loose firearms led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of unlicensed guns and ammunition on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

A caliber .38 revolver with three ammunition was recovered by the police during the implementation of a search warrant in San Jose, Negros Oriental.

However, the suspect, alias “Jov”, 43, who engages in selling of guns, managed to escape, according to a report of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region.

A similar police operation in Barangay Taclobo, Dumaguete City led to the arrest   of alias “John”, and the recovery of a Colt MK IV caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing three ammunition.

Another operation in Sitio Magsaha, Barangay Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental resulted in the recovery of an improvised shotgun with 10 ammunition and a caliber .38 revolver with three ammunition.

Operatives arrested a certain alias “Alex”, a 46-year-old laborer.

The two arrested suspects failed to present documents, which allow them to possess firearms, according to the police. | GB
