The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is deploying 276 police personnel to secure participants and venues of the 2026 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games in Bacolod City from May 9 to 15.
PLt. Col. Joem Malong, spokesperson of PRO-NIR, said Wednesday (May 6) they have been strategically deployed to ensure sufficient manpower and operational readiness across all key areas.
The 17th edition of the PRISAA National Games is expected to draw more than 12,000 delegates from 17 regions to compete in 21 sports, featuring a historic debut of obstacle-course racing.
Personnel of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office are expected to reinforce the security operations of the Bacolod City Police Office.
“The comprehensive deployment is designed to reinforce ground security, strengthen inter unit coordination, and ensure swift and effective response capabilities for the duration of the event,” Malong said.
The PRO-NIR is also working in closely with local government units, event organizers, and partner-agencies to ensure a unified, seamless, and well-coordinated security framework, she added. | GB
