Twenty-five residents of various barangays in San Carlos City completed
316-hour Cookery NC2 Training held at the Livelihood and Skills Training Center of the Department of Science and Technology.
The successful trainees comprised the first batch of participants.
The free training, which ended on Oct. 8, was conducted by the Public Employment and Service Office of the city government in coordination with the Technical Education Skills and Developmet Authority.
At the culminating program held at the City Hall Lobby, Mayor Renato Gustilo urged the skills training scholars to continue improving their knowhow
and aim higher by venturing into business and help generate employment to further strengthen their livelihood source and the local economy.
Vice Mayor Christopher Paul Carmona also recognized the efforts of the graduates in completing the required number of hours despite the pandemic.
Training beneficiaries Hernalene Bayot and Cerah Dalisay thanked the city government and PESO as well as TESDA, saying that the training provided them
with high-quality skills in cooking.
Erel Lim, PESO in-charge, said that the local government has been allocating funds for TESDA -accredited trainings to meet the requirements of the new normal and beef up the city’s pool of skilled workers.
The second batch of training will be scheduled shortly, Lim said.
