21 advance to grand finals of Tingog sang Kadalag-an

Twenty-one Victoriahanon singers advanced to the grand finals of this year’s Tingog sang Kadalag-an, in celebration of the 26th Kadalag-an Festival of Victorias City in Negros Occidental.

From the 104 aspiring singing champions who auditioned, 45 made it in the eliminations held Feb. 24 and March 1.

There will be six contestants vying for this year’s junior category and 10 in the open category. In addition, five previous singing champions will go head-to-head in the Battle of the Champions during the grand finals on March 23, starting at 5 p.m., at the Sidlak Victorias Global City Activity Center.

The voices of Ernesto Puying III, Angelica Navaro, John Xander Java, Jairah Dequiña, Ellah Mae Depacaquivo, and Jabez Dean Marte stood out from among the 20 contestants during the junior category eliminations.

In the open category, Khim Joshua Belleza, Catrina Cartagena, Jun Emetrio Lanada, Daniela Castillano, Ken Zaire Eustaquio, Armie Baron, Ellaine Jaye Nicole Toledo, Daisyne Occeña, Rheianne Aidee Mabaquiao, and Elton John Siason secured their spots in the grand finals, a city press release said.

Rolly Beloria, Chrystelle Vailoces, Frederick Dela Cruz, Thryziah Puying, and Cherry Narag will compete for the coveted title in the champions category.

Meanwhile, Noven Belleza, the city’s pride and Tawag ng Tanghalan grand champion, is also set to perform in the highly anticipated Tingog sang Kadalag-an finale.

The city also said that, for the first-time ever, rockcoustic heartthrob Sam Milby will be coming to Victorias and gracing the Sidlak Kadalag-an Queen coronation night as celebrity performer on March 22, 8 p.m., at the City Sports and Amusement Center.

Joining Milby is rising young star Kira Balinger and other celebs. The show is for free, and seats will be on a first come, first served basis.

The Dancing Traffic Enforcers event, meanwhile, will be held from 9-11 a.m., also on March 22, at the intersection of Osmeña Avenue and Jover Street.

There will also be a free legal consultation, from 8:30 a.m. to noon of that day, at the Multi-Purpose Building of Sidlak Victorias Global City, in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Negros Occidental Chapter, the city said. ||
