SRA orders 100% sugar production for domestic use

The Sugar Regulatory Administration has ordered that all sugar production for crop year 2023-2024, expected to be 1.85 million metric tons, shall be for domestic use.
In Sugar Order 1, dated Aug. 29, and made public Sept. 11, the SRA said production for CY 2023-2024, from Sept. 1, 2023 to Aug. 31, 2024, “shall be quedanned by the mill companies as 100 percent “B” or domestic market sugar”.

PRO6 nabs 27 gun ban violators

he Police Regional Office 6 reported that it has accounted for 27 violators of the Comelec gun ban in Western Visayas, as of Sept. 11.
Of the 27 violators, 25 are civilians and two are security guards.

Dengue cases in Negros Occ. down by 76.9% with 6 deaths

Dengue cases in 31 component cities and towns of Negros Occidental reached 986, from January to Sept. 2 this year, which is 76.93 percent lower than the 3,124 cases logged in the same period last year.

Fire destroys 38 houses, damages two in Bacolod

A fire hit a residential area at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday in Brgy. 7, Bacolod City, which destroyed 38 houses and damaged two others.

Nobody was injured in the incident that was caused by an explosion of a butane canister being used for cooking, the Bureau of Fire Protection said, adding that a fire out was declared at 11:15 p.m. Sept. 9.
