Subtlety of Siquijodnons

Building up the island of Siquijor, popularly known as Isla de Fuego (Island of Fire), will not be complete without referring to its people, many of whom have become illustrious in their own fields. Now a separate province in itself, some of its residents shared that they still feel an uncanny connection with Negros Oriental or the island of Negros, having been her sub-province for a long time. Today, local and foreign guests need to go to Dumaguete as the gateway to Siquijor.

Electricity lifeline rate rollout extended to September

Electric cooperatives were told to continue accepting and processing applications from consumers seeking to avail of the lifeline rate program.

The complete rollout of the program, initially set for this month, has been moved to September 2023 due to low registration turnout, as of July 31, among beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and non-4Ps participants, who are low-income end-users, a tripartite advisory from the Energy Regulatory Commission, Department of Energy, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development said.
