ASF spreads in Hinigaran

June 21, 2023

Cases of the African Swine Fever (ASF) have spread in Hinigaran town of Negros Occidental, although the number of hog deaths in the province is slowing down, as reported earlier by Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.
Mayor Nadie Arceo reported Wednesday that two pigs in Brgy. Cambaog, Hinigaran tested positive for ASF.

Ceneco extends JVA plebiscite

June 21, 2023

The plebiscite to ratify the Joint Venture Agreement between the Central Negros Electric Cooperative and Primelectric Holdings Inc. has been extended by two days, Ceneco acting general manager, Atty. Arnel Lapore, said.
The JVA plebiscite is scheduled on June 24 and 25, as well as on July 1 and 2.

Cops secure witnesses in massacre

June 21, 2023

The police announced Tuesday, June 20, a “breakthrough” in their investigations in connection with the massacre of four family members in rebel infested Sitio Kangkiling, Brgy. Buenavista, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
P/Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said they have an eyewitness in the incident and other witnesses have volunteered information to the police investigators.

P1.2-B Capitol bulk water project approved

June 21, 2023

Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said that Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has approved the feasibility study on the project, funded by the Asian Development Bank through the Public Private Partnership Center, in tandem with the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the USAIDF Safe Water, during the June 19 presentation by the project consultants.
