The Victorias City government recognized barangays II and VI-A for recently receiving the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB), during the regular flag-raising ceremony at the public plaza Aug. 4.
Receiving the SGLGB awards were Brgy. II punong barangay Richard Julius Sablan, and VI-A PB Anna Mae Claro.
The SGLGB is a prestigious recognition given to barangays that demonstrate outstanding performance in key governance areas, including transparency, financial administration, disaster preparedness, and social protection.

Sablan and Claro received copies of Sangguniang Panlungsod resolutions commending their feats, from Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, Vice Mayor Derek Palanca, and SP members.
Several Victoriasanons were also recognized during the flag-raising ceremony, while a special resolution was presented to Mayor Bantug, who previously served as vice mayor, the city said in a press release.
Michille Alba of the City Human Settlement and Urban Development Office and John Barredo of the Victorias City Aquatic Center were recognized as Employees of the Month (June) for their commitment to public service.
City information officer Joy Famini and City Health Office staff Chitalisa Valenciano, meanwhile, were each recognized for 25 years of service, while Jerry Alapto of the General Services Office was awarded for 15 years of service.
These recognitions reflect Victorias’ continued commitment to honoring excellence, promoting good governance, and celebrating the achievements of its constituents across all sectors, the city added. ||
