Two more Comelec gun ban violators were arrested Jan. 16 and 17, in Hinoba-an and Victorias City, Negros Occidental, bringing to five the number of those apprehended since the ban was enforced Jan. 9, in line with this year’s elections in May.
Policemen, who responded to an incident of alarm and scandal, arrested two suspects identified as Rodolfo Nicor and Efren Mancao, in Sitio Salvacion, Brgy. Talagacay, Hinobaan.
The two tried to flee on board a motorcycle but were eventually nabbed by policemen. One of them yielded a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine containing five ammunition, and a black 125 Click motorcycle.
The arrest yesterday of Ricky Jade Yap in Brgy. 13, Victorias City, also yielded an improvised shotgun with two live ammunition, and three sachets of suspected shabu, worth P3,400.
Last week, the police also arrested two gun ban violators in Kabankalan City and another one in Cadiz City, all in Negros Occidental. | GB
