A vehicular accident on Monday in Hacienda Tipolo, Brgy. Camandag, La Castellana, Negros Occidental claimed the lives of two tricycle passengers and injured two others.
Initial police investigations revealed that a trailer truck tried to avoid a bamboo pole along a curved portion of the road. In doing so, it occupied the left lane, where a passenger tricycle carrying four individuals was descending.
The collision resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead on the spot. Another passenger, a 13-year-old, succumbed to head injuries at a hospital in Bacolod City, police reported.
The driver of the trailer truck, identified only as alias Ramie, is now detained at the La Castellana Police Station pending further investigation. | GB
